Le Chocolat des Francais – Packaging

This is the perfect example of how to incorporate illustration with design in a way that makes sense for the brand. The brand ‘Le Chocolat des Francais’ partnered with illustrator Alice Des to create these beautiful designs, representing scenes from the French Riviera.

This makes for packaging that is not only appealing to look at, but also a great keepsake from a visit – adding to the commercial value of the product. This is what good design and illustration can do!

Assai Chocolate – Packaging

This has to be some of our favourite packaging we’ve seen in a long time! This work by Happycentro for Assai Chocolate is spot on!

Assai is an Italian chocolate made in a local, traditional way and to pay homage to this, the design team took inspiration from traditional Sicilian puppet shows. You can see have different characters designed and illustrated for each chocolate variant. What’s especially exciting though, is if you have a mind to do so – you can cut out the knights and using some split-pins, you can create your own puppets.

Amazing!

Malmö Chokladfabrik Packaging Design

Malmö Chokladfabrik is a high-end chocolatier in Sweden with a great appreciation for design. Here, they turned to Pond Design for help launching their price laddered offer of chocolate cones and bars. This allows for a more reasonable price-point for the product and allows more people to access it. The great news is that rather than going with a design that may suggest ‘cheaper’ or ‘less than’, the design they went with brings high end quality down to an affordable cost.

We love it!

Chocolate Concierge – Packaging

Chocolate Concierge is a Malaysian company that delivers chocolate on demand. When we came across their packaging, designed by Hungarian agency, anagraphic, we just had to share it.

Not only is this a great example of how the Internet has allowed great design to cross borders, it’s also just a beautifully designed piece of packaging. We love the gold foiling and the lush illustration style depicting the cocoa beans; this is packaging so sexy you just want to steal it!

While you could be a designer who lives and works in South Africa, for example, there’s no reason you can’t work on jobs anywhere in the world! Just a few years ago, that never would have been possible!
