Guyuelongshan – Packaging

It’s always fascinating to see how other cultures represent ideas of luxury and premium – what is a global expression of these ideas and what local nuances come through. This design for Guyuelongshan, a traditional Chinese millet wine with a 2000 year history, shows us just how these ideas are represented in China. We love the attention to detail, the calligraphy, colour choice and textures used – what a lovely piece of work!

Crash Baggage – Art Direction and Photography

Crash Baggage is a unique kind of luggage company – a luggage company where all of the bags are already dented! And with such a fun inspiration for the company, you can bet that their communications will follow suit.

Thanks to YOHOHO Studio and Mathery – that’s exactly what we have here. A beautifully shot and art directed shoot for Crash Baggage, with some really fun ideas. Beautiful work!

Rasmus Hjortsøj – Photography

Rasmus Hjortsøj is a Danish photographer based in Copenhagen with a focus on architectural photography. We’re sharing images from his series FLUGT, which captures the beautiful architecture of a gallery space – melding the new and the old together.

Van Orton – Illustration

Van Orton, an Italian illustrator and designer, has a signature style that is full of colour, motion and excitement. We’ve shared a selection of some of his recent work here, but we do suggest you take the time to look through his work – as you are sure to be incredibly inspired!

Spire Agency – Packaging

This piece of direct marketing for B2B agency, Spire, is the perfect example of a smart idea that is perfectly executed.

As a gift to their clients (and prospective clients) they created two ‘B2BBQ’ sauces and packaged them in gorgeous bottles that you can’t help but love. Wonderful stuff!

Snob Duck Solid Shampoo – Design and Illustration

We’re not exactly sure how this solid shampoo came to be called Snob Duck, but we’re very glad that it did. Thanks to Marios Karystios’ incredible illustration he’s helped this brand go from what could be a fairly mundane proposition to something incredibly fun and desirable.

Just look at those ridiculous ducks! Amazing!

You can see more Karystios’ work here.

Sankar Sridhar – Photography

We’ve featured Sankar Sridhar’s work before as he has such a great way of capturing Indian life and culture. Today we’re sharing a series called Nihangs: The Eternals, where he captured images of a specific Sikh sect that shuns society and lives on their own.

They’ve been known throughout history for their bravery in battle, and wear blue (to signify bravery) or bright yellow (to signify sacrifice). They are also known for their large turbans, which you can see in the images below.

What an incredible window into a culture!
