Collaboration – Masiphumelele x Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography

The Grade 11 & 12 learners from Masiphumelele are doing a collaboration with Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography second Year Photography students in which the Academy students are documenting, through their photography, the life and people in Masiphumelele.

The Grade 11 & 12 learners, through IKAMVAYOUTH, are bettering their writing skills after school by attending weekly session for creative writing and will be using their writing skills to match up the photography of the Academy students, culminating in a final collaborative book at the end of the project. 

We would like to say a massive thank you to Premium Brands for the incredible writing material and T-shirt’s that the learners can use over the next few months of this project.

Funds raised through the sale of the book will be plowed back into IKAMVAYOUTH and the big dream is to raise enough money to eventually create a skate park in Masiphumelele. By planting a seed, the dream will grow!!

Keep an eye out for the final collaborative book that is to come!

27th International Poster Biennale

The International Poster Biennale was started in Warsaw in 1966, and is held every two years. This year’s design saw the creative team behind the project take inspiration from the original logo, to quite brilliant effect – as you can see below!

Halawany – Illustration

Halawany is a 3D artist and art director who is the co-founder of 7 Pictures, a media agency based in Egypt.

Magali Polverino – Photography

Magali Polverino is a photographer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Today, we’re sharing the work she did for the Dante Robino winery, with art direction by Pato Katz. We absolutely love this shoot and the way they’ve captured these gorgeous table settings for the wine!

Groenewold – Illustration

Groenewold is a Mexican illustrator who draws inspiration from traditional Mexican iconography and illustration styles. Often working over photography (as we see here), Groenewold also creates many different products for people to buy, with the illustrations taking centre stage.

Remo Daut – Photography

Remo Daut is a photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona who focuses mainly on landscapes, cityscapes and aerial photography.

Today we’re sharing a series of images he shot in Iceland, which so beautifully capture the moodiness and drama of the landscape. Such incredible work!

Mythos Beer – Rebrand

This rebrand by Luminous Design for one of Greece’s most famous beers, Mythos, is a great example of retaining a brand’s identity but updating it for modern times.

We love how they’ve kept all the elements that make up the brand, while using slight tweaks to make it more current. Great work!
