Creanet – Magazine Design

Good publication design is harder and harder to find these days as we see a huge shift away from print and toward digital. What’s happened though, which suits design nerds like us endlessly, is that as print gets harder to come by it becomes more niche. That means that people will take bigger risks and spend more to make something worth keeping and cherishing, rather than something to simply throw away.

Enter Creanet, a Spanish design studio, who designed this incredible architectural magazine simply called ’12’. With a die-cut design that you can’t deny, this is how print stays relevant: Becoming super high end and absolutely collectable.

Now just to get our hands on one of these!

Spin – Adventures in Typography

Spin is a London-based multidisciplinary design agency working across typography, packaging, publication, web, identities and motion graphics.

Here, they’ve created an entire publication about their love of typography. It shows their process when creating a new type design, showing some beautifully abstracted forms and a gorgeous monochromatic palette.

If you’re a design nerd like we are – it doesn’t get better than this!

Dominic Roberts – Houtstraat Publishers

Dominic Roberts is a local illustrator and designer who began his life in the Eastern Cape but since found his way to Cape Town. We love his dedication to design principles and attention to detail.

Here, we share his work for Houtstraat Publishers, which incorporates not only corporate identity but also publication design. Truly, is there anything more beautiful to a designer than a perfectly laid out page?
