Ray Collins Wave Photography

Photography is all about capturing that perfect moment in time. In fact, photography is just as much about time as it is about visuals. It’s hard to grasp at first, but the work below shows just how important it can be.

This work from Ray Collins, shows us the vital importance of time in taking great photographs. His wave photos are at once architectural and ephemeral. Capturing waves as they form and break – the perfect moment gives them real weight and heft – more than they have in reality. One can almost imagine these waves as mountains or hills made of real mass, rather than just water.
